Fan Accepts Christ Because Of Jim Varney!
(After reading this most wonderful letter on a Varney Mail Discussion list, I felt it should be added to this site. Jim Varneys life has and is touching people's lives.)
Hey friends. I just finished listening to a cassette tape of Jim's memorial service in Nashville, sent to me by a fan. This is very hard for me. I can't tell you about the service. You would have had to be there, or listen to a recording of it. One of the last things Jim said to his friends... When I'm gone, don't cry over me. Just do something nice for others.'' Well, Jim...I'm crying...AGAIN! But this time, NOT because you passed away. I realized something from listening to the memorial service. For days everyone has remembered Jim for what he was...and what he wasn't, his success, his generosity, kindness, compassion. But the greatest thing Jim Varney ever did was give his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He accepted Christ as his savior. And the day before he died, he told a friend, ''I wanna go home. I'm ready.'' I got an email from a fan, a 30 year old man, who says he has accepted Christ as his savior...because of this web site (Not this one, but a very nice Jim Varney mail discussion list), and because of Jim. All I can say is...Jim's work is now complete. I can't praise the Lord enough. I love you, Jim
